    Thank you for Your Crappy mods that crash people's Servers. I am now Forced to restart once again. I will report you to ecomods

    The report function under every post is used to report the content of a post, if you feel that it violated our rules and guidelines. It's not meant to be used to report a developer who's mod isn't working on your server, that is a technical issue you should resolve in a discussion here on the forums or on discord or somewhere else.

    Also, please be more respectful towards each other. Since i don't have high hopes that you will get anyone to help you with your problems if you literally start your first post offending the developer. So please, treat everyone with respect since you would like to be treated respectfully as well.

    [JUMPTOGOAL="about"]About the Trusted Dev Program[/JUMPTOGOAL]

    Today we've added a new feature to eco-mods.com that adds a new user group called "Trusted Dev". This new user group has the permission to add new mods as well as updates without approval to the resources, we call this the "Trusted Dev Program".

    Since the beginning of our website, we've met a lot of Mod Developers creating great mods and content for the whole Eco Community to enjoy, and some of those Developers have literally branded their names into the term "Eco Mod" or "Eco Modding" with their efforts. Even though it sounds kind of childish, but imagining a world without those mod developers and their mods, wouldn't be possible anymore.

    That's why we're giving out the special "Trusted Dev" user group to certain Mod Developers who have proven, not just by the amount of resources or downloads they've gained, but by being a true, trustworthy part of the community that we've personally talked to or are even in contact with. Like stated above, as a "Trusted Dev" you'll be able to submit mods and updates without having us to approve them.

    [JUMPTOGOAL="howto"]How to become a "Trusted Dev"[/JUMPTOGOAL]

    The user group will be given out manually to Mod Developers who we, and also the existing Trusted Devs think that someone has deserved it. Anybody has the chance to get this user group by simply being a great and trustworthy Mod Developer who's an active part of the community. The amount of downloads or resources isn't that important, it's about quality, and again about being just a great part of our community.

    Once becoming a Trusted Dev, you'll also get a fancy new badge and name color. :)

    Even though Trusted Devs are now able to submit mods without approval, we're still going to review them and make sure they're clean and safe for everyone to use.

    [JUMPTOGOAL="removingexternaldownloads"]Removing External Downloads for Resources[/JUMPTOGOAL]

    As you probably already know, when submitting a mod to our website it won't get published immediately due security reasons.
    Each mod submission as well as their updates have to be reviewed and approved by us manually to ensure that the files, submitted to the Resources Page are safe to download.

    Today we have to announce that we won't support external download links for mods on our website anymore. Usually, Mod Developers had the choice between hosting their mod files on our server or to host them on their own server, dropbox or something else. This option, to "self-host" the mod-files will get removed due to security reasons.

    The reason why we decided to remove this feature is simple, when someone hosts their mod-files on our servers and the files get approved, they won't be able to change the mod-files after getting it approved. However, someone who's using his own website or dropbox to host the mod-files can easily change the downloadable file after our approval without notice and in the worst case, lead to a mod that spreads malware, viruses, keyloggers or other malicious stuff.

    This means that mod-files from now own, have to be uploaded to our server to keep them unchanged and untouched after they get approved and published to our community.

    ___________

    [JUMPTOGOAL="whathappensnow"]What happens now?[/JUMPTOGOAL]

    The external download option has been disabled and the download links to externally hosted mod-files will get deleted soon. And the mods that use this option will still remain visible but become fileless.

    Please keep in mind that deciding against hosting the files on our server, but linking in the resource description to a direct download link to your mod-files will be seen as breaking the rule of not allowing external download links anymore.

    External Download Links will get removed next week on Friday, after publishing this post!

    ___________

    I hope you understand the reason for our decision.

    Hello everyone!

    Today Strange Loop Games have released version 7.4 for Eco.
    Check out the official changelog for additions, changes and fixes.

    With this release, we've edited the prefixes for resources to display the current versions correctly. (7.3.X -> 7.4.X -> 7.5.X)
    Mod Developers, keep in mind to update your prefixes using the Edit resource feature.

    You're now able to select a maximum of two prefixes for your resources.

    For example, you can use a Green Prefix in combination with a Purple Prefix to let everybody know that your mod supports the Current Version of Eco aswell as the Staging Version.

    I'm a huge fan of the idea to remove or decrease the iron and coal on the surface. (y)

    I've seen so many people adding thousands of iron ore to their Blast Furnaces to smelt, your option should make it a bit more harder (in a fun way) to obtain iron and coal. ;)

    i have updated it for my ae mod, you can find cs files inside my mod zip (only cs files) i don't know why it doesn't works for zeddycus honestly, it works fine for me both locally on a fresh server and online on the official server updated from 7.2.5.
    it's modded btw, different crafts requirements and craft time (coherent with tables you craft those on)

    I can confirm. It is working smothly on my own ded server.

    Is it working with 7.3.1? And would you consider it stable?

    Hello Community.

    Today, we've decided due to several requests in the last weeks, to add a new feature to the Resources Page.
    We've added a couple of sub-categories to keep the mods organized, and we also added a new way to highlight the game-version that your mod is compatible with. This post is all about the new way to highlight the game-version using prefixes.

    [JUMPTOGOAL="whathaschanged"]1. What has changed?[/JUMPTOGOAL]

    We've added the prefix feature to the resources to increase the user experience for everyone while searching mods for a specific version of Eco.
    Mod Developers will now be forced to select a prefix while adding and editing a resource. Everyone will then be able to filter the prefixes for their desired version.

    [JUMPTOGOAL="setprefix"]2. How to set a version-prefix?[/JUMPTOGOAL]

    It's as simple as it gets. While adding a resource, you'll have to choose a prefix next to the title of your mos. You can change the prefix at anytime using the Edit resource feature in the "More options" dropdown list.

    [JUMPTOGOAL="filterprefix"]3. How to filter version-prefixes?[/JUMPTOGOAL]

    While viewing the Resources page, you can open the filter-menu and choose a prefix to search for a specific version of Eco.

    [JUMPTOGOAL="abandonedmods"]4. Abandoned Mods[/JUMPTOGOAL]

    If a mod developer doesn't update their mod and it's been two versions since the last update, the mod might receive the "Abandonded" prefix.
    You can remove it once your mod has been updated. But if your mod hasn't been updated in a long time, but is still compatible with never versions of Eco, just assign the correct version-prefix to it and you're good to go.

    I hope this increases the user-experience on our website.
    Let me know what you think about it.
