Eco, as of 7.3, is a game about skill point allocation. Choosing specializations carefully is most important, as their cost increases for every specialization learned.
Some specializations are more useful than others. Three of them however are completely useless from a gameplay perspective: the construction skills. (Wood Construction, Stone Construction and Metal Construction) The skills contained in these specializations only provide cosmetic benefits: providing new blocks to build with. (Roofs, stairs, etc.)
It is perfectly possible, and even most efficient, to finish the game without these specializations. However this would have you miss out on beautifying your buildings. I want to be able to make pretty houses without wasting a specialization slot, so I made this mod which does the following:
- The construction specializations have been removed completely.
- The construction skills have been moved to their respective material-production specializations. (for example: Lumber construction is now a skill in the Lumber specialization)
- Any research dependant on a Construction specialization is now dependant on another specialization of a comparable tier.
- Research cost for the Construction specializations has been moved to maintain the total research material cost.
All changes are commented in the .cs files.
Install by extracting the AutoGen folder in the /mods/ directory of your server. Overwrite files when prompted.
